    Summary

    Good Sports gives all kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel and footwear to those most in need.
     
    Good Sports' main objective is to get as many kids off the sidelines and into the game as possible. Additionally, as a result of our donations, recipients have been able to do one or more of the following:
    • Increase the total amount of kids that are active within their program
    • Enhance their ability to maintain the athletes they currently serve
    • Lower participation fees
    • Develop new programs
     

    History of Funding

    Good Sports has donated over $22 million worth of brand new sports and fitness equipment to underprivileged kids across the country.

    Additional Information

    Important Information for School Applicants:

    • Schools must apply as a whole; applications for individual programs or teams within the school will not be considered.
    • If your school has a physical education program, be sure to include demographic information for the entire student population of the school – NOT just the students on the school's athletic teams.
    • In terms of budget information, you may simply report the revenue and expenses which relate directly to your overall athletic/physical education department. You do not need to report budget numbers for the entire school.

    Good Sports is NOT able to donate to the following:

    • Short-term events such as sports camps and tournaments
    • Individual athletes

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants must meet each of the following criteria:

    • Organization directly serves youth between the ages of 3-18 years old.
    • Organization serves youth in an economically disadvantaged area (if a school applicant, more than 50% of the student body must be eligible for free/reduced lunch).
    • Organization charges a participation fee of $299 or below.
    • Organization operates an organized sport, recreational activity, or fitness program that offers consistent and structured opportunities for play to large groups of children.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are to be submitted by December 22, 2023. Applicants will be notified on January 22, 2024.

    Award Details

    Awards are in the form of available equipment and apparel. All approved organizations will:

    • Gain access to a catalog of available inventory, which displays the equipment, apparel, and footwear that are available.
    • Be able to use up to six total donation requests over a two-year period, with a maximum of three donation requests per year.

    Note: You will be required to sign a release form and pay a donation processing fee prior to receiving each donation. The fee will always equal 5% of the total retail value of the items; for example, if the total value of your items equals $2,000, you will be asked to provide $100, etc. There is no maximum fee.
