    The Wells Fargo Texas Grant Program supports organizations that work to strengthen communities within the State of Texas. Funding priority will be given to organizations whose primary purpose is to benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Wells Fargo makes grants in the following focus areas:
    • Community Development – supports programs that:
      • Help provide affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals;
      • Promote economic development by financing small businesses or small farms;
      • Provide job training for low and moderate income individuals Provide financial education and promote economic empowerment; and
      • Help to revitalize low and moderate income communities 
    • Education – supports programs that:
      • Promote academic achievement for low- and moderate-income students with a priority emphasis on K-12;
      • Provide training for teachers and administrators working with low- and moderate-income students; and
      • Encourage school partnerships with parents and guardians, the local community, and the business community
    • Human Services - supports social and human service organizations whose work chiefly benefits low- and moderate-income individuals. 
    • Arts and Culture – supports organizations that work to enhance community diversity through: 
      • Access to cultural experiences for low- and moderate-income individuals;
      • Availability of a broad array of artistic opportunities and venues that reflect the community's diversity; and
      • Educational programs 
    • Civic Engagement – supports organizations that work to enhance a community's quality of life through projects involving: 
      • Public policy;
      • Community beautification;
      • Civic leadership;
      • Citizen education; and
      • Cultural diversity 
    • Environment - supports programs that:
      • Conserve natural resources;
      • Provide environmental education; and
      • Support the transition to a sustainable environment

    • Start-up funding for new organizations;
    • Political action committees, candidates, causes, and lobbying;
    • Endowment campaigns;
    • Video or film production;

    • Vehicles;
    • For-profit entities including small start-up businesses; and
    • Travel, including student trips

    Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, and tribal and government agencies, including public school systems in the following areas:

    • Austin - Bandera, Bastrop, Bell, Burnet, Comal, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Llano, Travis, Williamson
    • Dallas/Fort Worth - Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Wise
    • Houston - Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend , Galveston, Harris, Montgomery
    • San Antonio - Atascosa, Bexar, Comal, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Wilson
    • Texarkana - Bowie, Cass, Little River (AR), Miller (AR) 
    • Other areas of greater Texas - Aransas, Archer, Austin, Brazos, Calhoun, Cameron, Clay, Dallam, DeWitt, Ector, Fayette, Freestone, Garza, Gonzales, Grimes, Hale, Hardin, Hartley, Hidalgo, Hill, Howard, Jackson, Jefferson, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kleberg, Lavaca, Leon, Liberty, Lubbock, Madison, Matagorda, McLennan, Midland, Montague, Nueces, Orange, Potter, Randall, Robertson, San Patricio, Swisher, Tom Green, Victoria, Waller, Washington, Webb, Wichita, Willacy, Yoakum

    Deadline Details

    Eligible nonprofits aligned to Wells Fargo giving priorities with an invitation to apply for funding from Wells Fargo will use the invitation code provided to access the online application portal to complete a grant application. 

    Nonprofits that have not been invited to apply but align with strategic focus areas and meet eligibility and outcomes reporting requirements may register and submit a Grant Interest Form.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary. Generally, awards will range between $250 and $20,000 based on the size and need of the organization applying.
