    Summary

Inland Northwest Community Foundation works closely with nonprofit organizations and others throughout the region to identify and respond to a wide range of community issues and opportunities. This might be as complex as collaborating with community leaders on a long-range plan for neighborhood preservation, or as basic as funding a program to provide shoes for children from low-income families. In all cases, INWCF looks to fund solutions that will create measurable, positive change in our region.

Grants are awarded through a combination of competitive programs and donor recommendations.

    • Community Grants are awarded to local nonprofit charitable organizations through an application process. These grants are possible because of donors who have established community funds that give INWCF the flexibility to make funding decisions that accommodate changing needs and to capitalize on timely and compelling opportunities in our region.
    • Scholarship Grants help high school and college students achieve their higher education goals. INWCF currently manages more than 40 funds that award scholarships. They are awarded through an application process.
    • Donor-Advised Grants are awarded on the recommendation of donors who have established funds that allow them to support the issues and needs they care about most.
    • Designated Grants are awards that are made on an annual basis directly to nonprofit organizations in perpetuity based on the wishes of the donors who have established designated funds.

Donor-advised and Designated grants are awarded as per donor recommendations and are not open to application.
