    The West Bancorporation Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation”) is the charitable foundation affiliate of West Bancorporation, Inc. West Bancorporation is the parent of West Bank which is actively involved in the greater Des Moines, Iowa City/Coralville and Minnesota areas where they conduct business and where their employees are leaders in helping the community and citizens grow and prosper. The Foundation's main priority is to support programs that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income individuals through human services, education, and arts and culture.

    The West Bancorporation Foundation has funded 438 grants to 219 organizations totaling $1,121,150 over the past five years. Past awardees include: 234 Inc, Abraham Lincoln High School Alumni Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association and Ballet Des Moines.

    Giving primarily is limited to non profit organizations in Des Moines and Iowa City/Coralville and Minnesota.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are to be submitted by January 1; April 1; July 1; and October 1, annually. Initial approach should be with a Letter of Intent. Contact the foundation directly for more information.
