    Summary

    These grants are provided to State workforce agencies to develop and disseminate essential state and local Workforce and Labor Market Information for a range of customer groups, such as:

    • job seekers;
    • businesses/employers;
    • workforce and labor market intermediaries ( employment, school, and career counselors, as well as case managers at American Job Centers who help individuals find a job or make career decisions, or engage businesses seeking skilled workers;
    • program and service planners at educational institutions and community-based organizations;
    • policy makers, including state and local workforce development boards;
    • partners, such as economic development entities and human resource professionals; and
    • other customers, including recipients of workforce development grants, researchers, commercial data providers, and the media.
     

    History of Funding

    An estimated $1,068,110,000 was available in total funding for approximately 57 awards in 2019.

    Additional Information

    WIOA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Activities program allotments are determined by the Wganer-Peyser Act.

    Those eligible to apply are: States including the District of Columbia and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; Outlying areas of American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of Mariana Islands, Republic of Palau, and the United States Virgin Islands.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline to submit an application is May 25, 2020. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.

    An estimated $1,322,493,000 is available in total funding for approximately 57 awards in 2020. Individual allotments are based on formula. Awards range from $116,080 to $142,073,567. Cost sharing/matching is not required.
