    The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation supports organizations involved with arts and culture, education, the environment, and human services. Special emphasis is directed toward programs designed to improve access to education; strengthen the bonds of military families; and provide opportunities for minorities, children, and low-income families.


    The foundation supports a diverse array of nonprofits and programs, awarding millions of dollars over 23 years and counting. Cracker Barrel also offers additional assistance to countless charitable organizations across the nation. The foundation's main focus is supporting members of America's armed forces and their families.


    Cracker Barrel Foundation Scholarship: The foundation awards 55 $1,500 college scholarships to employees and children of employees of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Applicants must enroll in an accredited, not-for-profit college, university, vocational or technical institute as a full time student in the fall of the same calendar year that the scholarship is awarded.

    Grants to Individuals Program: Scholarships only to employees of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and their dependent children for higher education.

     

    History of Funding

    The foundation has awarded a total of $265,500 for grants in 2016. Recent awardees include: Operation Homefront, the USO, the National Military Family Association, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, United Through Reading, and the National Museum of the United States Army, among many others.

    Additional Information

    No support for religious, political, fraternal, athletic, or veterans' organizations. No grants to individuals (except employee-related scholarships), or for disease or health-related causes, capital campaigns, conferences, seminars, or reunions.

    Eligible applicants are non profit organizations. Giving is primarily in Lebanon and Nashville, Tennessee.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are accepted throughout the year. Initial approach should be with a letter of intent. Qualified applicants will be asked to submit a full proposal.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary by scope and size of projects. Awards are up to $500,000. Most awards are less than $5,000.
