The A. Montgomery Ward Foundation was established by his daughter, Marjorie Montgomery Ward Baker, in 1959 to support and strengthen charitable institutions that provide quality educational and cultural programming for the current and future residents of Chicago, Illinois, and its surrounding communities.

The foundation has funded 224 grants to 138 organizations totaling $2,687,197 over the past five years. Past awardees include Associated Colleges of Illinois Inc, Helping Hand, Orchard Village, Wings Program, Inc, and North Side Housing and Supportive Services.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations serving Chicago, Illinois and the surrounding area.
Applications may be submitted by April 1 or October 1 annually. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.
Individual amounts vary based on project size up to $100,000. Most awards are between $10,000 - $25,000.
